Sigrid Sandker is a multidisciplinary artist and art therapist based in Brussels, Belgium.

The question of what makes humans human and what all humans have in common is at the centre of her work. Regardless of when or where humans live or have lived, what defines us? What lies behind the facade? What emotions lie beneath the surface? Where do certain images and patterns come from?

Her artistic work is inextricably linked to her life in the South American countries of Guyana and Chile, where she artistically collaborated with Indigenous women, developing friendships and discovering the wisdom and spirituality of their cultures.

Her approach to "human nature" is inseparable from "humans in nature." Without nature, there could be no humans at all.
